šŸ¦ Funding from an exchange

UWritten by Unifold SupportĀ·

Many people keep funds on a centralized exchange. Unifold-powered apps can pull from those balances in two ways: a linked exchange connection, or a manual withdrawal to a deposit address.

Unifold is not exclusive to any one venue or off-ramp brand. Coverage is whatever the destination app enabled.

Linked exchange (Connect Exchange)

When the app offers it, you authorize Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, or another supported venue. Unifold handles the OAuth or API-key flow, rate limits, and the withdrawal into the destination asset.

Typical steps:

  1. In the deposit or checkout panel, choose the exchange option.
  2. Sign in to the venue and approve access.
  3. Pick the balance you want to move. Conversion to the app’s asset happens on arrival.
  4. Confirm. Watch the widget until the destination balance updates.

You can link more than one venue. Sessions refresh in the background; if a connection expires, the widget will ask you to reconnect.

Manual withdrawal to a deposit address

If you would rather not link an account:

  1. Follow Sending crypto into an app to copy the address for the correct token and network.
  2. On the exchange, start a withdrawal to that address. Select the same network the widget shows (for example, USDC on Base is not USDC on Ethereum).
  3. Mind the exchange’s own minimums, fees, and travel-rule prompts.
  4. Wait for the venue to broadcast a hash, then for Unifold to credit.

Exchange withdrawal fees are charged by the venue, not as a Unifold line item.

Timing

Linked withdrawals usually credit in a few minutes after the exchange broadcasts. Manual withdrawals depend entirely on how quickly the venue processes the request. Weekend maintenance or extra compliance review on the exchange side can add hours before a hash exists.

Troubleshooting

  • No hash yet: the funds have not left the exchange. Check that venue’s withdrawal history.
  • Hash exists, app balance unchanged: use Finding your deposit.
  • Wrong network selected on the exchange: treat this as Sent the wrong asset.
